Neutron Grants Program Batch #1 — Spacebox Indexer

Thesis

As part of our first grant batch, we have decided to award Bro_n_Bro Validator a grant to extend the work on their open-source Spacebox Indexer and build an open-source indexer for Neutron (including the recent Duality and Block SDK modules). This grant is for 120,000 USDC, broken down into an upfront payment and two milestone payments.

We believe that a high-performance open-source indexer would drastically improve the developer experience of building on Neutron and displaying all the existing activity currently occurring on the blockchain (but often isn't highlighted). Especially in the context of the Duality module now live on Neutron, we believe that the Spacebox Indexer can play an important role in improving the state of data accessibility on Neutron and especially within Neutron's DeFi ecosystem.

Grant Deliverables

Release an open-source indexer for the Neutron Blockchain. Defined as indexing the following modules for Neutron:

For Milestone 1 completion, the criteria is as follows:

  • Integration of the standard cosmos sdk modules (bank to ics), as well as the cosmwasm and dex module at the following benchmarks:
  • dex module indexes latest block on a per block real-time basis of less than 1 second
  • cosmwasm and other modules indexes on a per block real-time basis of less than 3 seconds.
  • Historical blocks indexed at least 20 blocks/second on average.

For Milestone 2 completion, the criteria is as follows:

  • Integration of remaining modules based on benchmark of indexing realtime blocks in less than 3 seconds.
  • Historical blocks indexed at least 20 blocks/second on average.
  • Implementation of the remaining modules.
  • Testing and debugging of all implemented modules.
  • Public testing.

Grant Payment Terms

  • Upfront Payment: 30,000 USDC
  • Milestone 1 Payment: 40,000 USDC
  • Milestone 2 Payment: 50,000 USDC
